The conventional and unconventional sides of my life.

Ever since I’ve moved my art supplies back into the old office now art studio, I’ve been at my work table nearly every night “piddling” with various art stuff. I created this beautiful little (4.75”x5.50”) mixed media piece last night. I used masking tape on bristol vellum paper colored with water soluble pastels for the background. The mermaid was printed on transparency film & colored with markers. I elevated the image by using the foam glue dots. All images are courtesy of the wonderful, Graphics Fairy!

  7. Hi Dot,
Well, I sure am glad you’re finally off work…mine has been hectic too!!! I’ve been putting together this art center in the house and haven’t gotten to sleep until 4 for 5 days in a row…glad it’s done…yeah!
I hope you have a great weekend…and also, thank you for your kind comments on the Joan of Arc piece…it’s not really my style, but the challenge was “bronze” so I made it and the woman who runs the challenge is SO sweet that I wanted to participate…that makes such a big difference when you feel like the people running the challenges actually care…lol
    Take good care.
    Hugs from me,

  8. I am such a fan of mermaids and masking tape backgrounds…what a really lovely creation!
